Everything you need to get started with video editing

Our video editing courses are designed to work with your existing setup. Whether you're using a basic laptop or a high-end workstation, we'll help you make the most of your equipment while learning professional techniques.

Computer Specifications

Your computer doesn't need to be cutting-edge, but certain specifications will make your learning experience smoother. Here's what we recommend for optimal performance.

  • Dedicated graphics card with 2GB VRAM (optional but helpful)
  • 500GB available storage space
  • USB 3.0 ports for external drives

Software Requirements

We cover multiple editing platforms throughout our courses. You can start with free software and upgrade as your skills develop. Most lessons work across different programs.

  • Final Cut Pro (Mac users only)
  • Filmora or similar entry-level editors
  • Web browser supporting HTML5 video

Video files can be large, so proper storage planning is essential. We'll teach you workflow management alongside editing techniques to keep your projects organized.

  • External hard drive (1TB minimum recommended)
  • Cloud storage account (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.)
  • File compression software (WinRAR, 7-Zip)
  • Regular backup system

Equipment & Accessories

While not essential for learning, having some basic equipment can enhance your practice sessions. We'll show you how to work with whatever gear you have available.

  • Smartphone or basic camera for practice footage
  • Tripod or stabilizer (even a basic one helps)
  • External microphone for audio recording
  • Good quality headphones or speakers
  • Adequate lighting setup (natural light works too)
